How do I register for the Caribbean Carpet Programme?

To register for the Caribbean Carpet Programme, follow the steps below. After registering, you can apply for a short-stay Caribbean visa.

Step 1: Check whether you are eligible

You can only register for the Caribbean Carpet Programme if you require a visa to travel to Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St Eustatius or St Maarten. You must also meet the conditions.

Check whether you need a visa

If you do not require a visa to travel to the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom, you cannot register for the Caribbean Carpet Programme. You will need other documents to travel to the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom.

If you do not meet the conditions, you can still apply for a Caribbean visa to travel to the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom.

Step 2: Complete the registration form

Complete the registration form for the Caribbean Carpet Programme

Attention: If your spouse, registered partner or (if you are under 18) your parent, stepparent or adoptive parent already participates in the Caribbean Carpet Programme, state their name on the form.

Step 3: Submit the registration form

Submit the completed registration form by email to the Dutch embassy or consulate-general in the country where you live.

If there is no Dutch embassy or consulate-general in your country of residence, send the form to the closest Dutch embassy.

Choose your country on the Making an appointment outside the Netherlands page. Under ‘Visa’ click ‘Caribbean Carpet Programme’. Here you will find the email address of the relevant embassy or consulate-general.

Step 4: Applying for a short-stay Caribbean visa

You will receive an email when your registration for the Caribbean Carpet Programme has been processed. This can take up to 1 month. Select your situation to find out how to apply for a short-stay visa.

If your registration has been approved, you are now participating in the Caribbean Carpet Programme. This means you can apply for a Caribbean visa more easily.

If your registration has not been approved, you will not be able to benefit from the advantages of the Caribbean Carpet Programme. But you can still apply for a Caribbean visa.
