How can I continue to receive my benefit under the Work and Employment Support (Young Disabled Persons) Act if I move abroad?
If you move abroad and want to continue receiving benefit under the Work and Employment Support (Young Disabled Persons) Act (Wajong benefit), you may do so only is certain situations. You must submit an application for this by post.
Applying by post
In your letter you must explain your situation and why you would like to continue to receive Wajong benefit in another country. Please note: only in certain cases is it possible to continue to receive Wajong benefit abroad. You must therefore clearly explain why you believe you qualify for this.

After submitting your application
On the basis of your letter the UWV will determine whether you can receive Wajong benefit in the country where you live.
Application denied
If the UWV informs you that you cannot receive Wajong benefit outside of the Netherlands, you may be entitled to benefit under the Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act (WIA benefit) from the UWV. You can also consult the benefits organisation in the country you are moving to to find out whether there are other options available for you.
