Applying for an emergency travel document in Belgium
If your passport or ID card is lost or stolen in Belgium, and you need an emergency travel document soon, you can't apply for one in Belgium.
Applying in the Netherlands
If you are in Belgium and need an emergency travel document, you can contact the Dutch Royal Military and Border Police (Koninklijke Marechaussee) to apply for an emergency passport. Be aware that you cannot travel to every country on an emergency passport. Contact the embassy or consulate of the country you will be travelling to and check whether you can travel there on an emergency passport.
You can read where to apply for your emergency passport and which documents you need to submit on the website of the Dutch Royal Military and Border Police (Koninklijke Marechaussee).
Applying in another country
You can also apply for an emergency travel document at a Dutch embassy in another country, such as Luxembourg or France.
Apply for a new passport or identity card
If you don’t have to travel immediately, you can apply for a new Dutch passport or identity card. You can do this at a Dutch border municipality or a Dutch embassy in another country. Find out how to apply for a Dutch passport or identity card in France or Luxembourg.
