How much student finance can I get from DUO?
If you are entitled to student finance from DUO, the amount you can get is the same for each country, up to a maximum per month. It does not matter whether you are studying in the Netherlands or abroad.
What influences the amount of student finance you can get?
You decide for yourself what components of student finance to apply for. The amount depends on:
- your parents’ income
- whether your parents are repaying a student loan of their own
- how many siblings you have
- whether you live at home (with your parents/carers) or away from home
- whether you’re caring for a child.
Amounts per month
Go to the DUO website to find the maximum amount of student finance per month.
Calculate it yourself
You can calculate for yourself how much student finance you can get. To do so, you need to know your parents’ income. If you do not know what they earn, make an estimate. If your parents receive an income from outside the Netherlands, they will need to inform DUO of their annual income. They will receive a letter notifying them of this.
