Can I take a weapon into the Netherlands?
If you are travelling to the Netherlands or returning to the Netherlands after a trip abroad, you can only take a weapon with you if you have a licence.
Applying for a licence
If you want to travel to the Netherlands with a weapon, such as a gun, knife or sword, you will need a licence. You can apply for a licence through the Customs Central Import and Export Office (CDIU).

If you do not have a licence but still bring a weapon into the Netherlands, customs will confiscate it.
Taking a weapon with you on the plane
If you are travelling by air, check the rules of the airport and airline as well. For example, on sharp objects.
