Applying for a Schengen visa for the Netherlands in Lithuania

You don’t need to apply for a Schengen visa for the Netherlands if you live in Lithuania. If you live outside Lithuania, or if your current Lithuanian residence permit will expire soon, find out what to do.

I live in Lithuania

You don’t need a Schengen visa for the Netherlands if:

  1. you are a Lithuanian national
  2. you live in Lithuania and have a valid Lithuanian residence permit
  3. you are in Lithuania and already have a valid Schengen visa

You will need other documents to travel to the Netherlands. The checklist for travelling to the Netherlands tells you which documents you need and what goods you can and cannot bring with you.

Check what you need to travel to the Netherlands

If your Lithuanian residence permit will not be extended, you can remain in the Netherlands and the other Schengen countries for a maximum of 90 days after your residence permit expires. In some cases you will need a Schengen visa. This depends on your nationality.
