Where can I find my citizen service number on my Dutch identity card?

Your citizen service number (BSN) is located on either the front or back of your Dutch identity card, depending on when the card was issued. In the pictures below the BSN is circled in red.

On ID cards issued after 2014, the BSN is printed on the back. Do you have an ID card dated 2 August 2021 or later? If so, your citizen service number is also shown in a QR code on the back of your ID card.
