How can I log in to MijnOverheid from abroad?

You can log in to the MijnOverheid website using your DigiD or a recognised eID from another European country.

Attention: If you live outside the Netherlands and don’t have a DigiD, first find out how to apply for a DigiD.

Frequently asked questions

After you log in to MijnOverheid for the first time, you’ll need to enter your email address. You’ll also need to select which organisations can send correspondence to Berichtenbox, your personal digital mailbox. Once you have done that, your MijnOverheid account will be active.

If you go to the website of another organisation via MijnOverheid, you may have to log in again. This is an extra security measure, so the other organisation can be sure it’s you logging in.

If you have a DigiD, you can authorise another person who has a DigiD to access your MijnOverheid Berichtenbox. In Berichtenbox, they will only see the correspondence  from organisations for which you have given them authorisation. They will not have access to anything else.
